All programs and services are available free of charge to individuals 60 and over. You'll find us in the Bronx, New York, online and in the community.
For over fifty years, RSS has championed older adults and their friends and families by helping community members live more fulfilling, joyful, and healthy lives. Today, we are reimagining and revitalizing RSS—enhancing programs, welcoming new leadership, and building a stronger foundation for the future. With a bold vision in place, we’re committed to growing our impact and ensuring that every older adult in our community feels seen, supported, and empowered.
Our services include:
A wide array of programs, classes, and events are offered in the center, through our community partners, and online.
Social services support includes benefits assistance and individual counseling.
Fulfilling volunteer opportunities available with RSS.
Technology support is available in classes at the Center, online, and through personalized one-on-one sessions.
Weekly trips in NYC, including visits to museums, shopping centers, and restaurants.
The RSS Adult Day Center for Memory Loss - the only program in the Bronx overseen by the NYC Aging Department. An essential service for those with memory loss and their families and caregivers.

We provide in-person services for older adults, including counseling, benefits assistance, and personalized guidance.

We offer in-person and online technology classes for older adults, covering everything from basic smartphone skills to AI, online safety, and creative digital tools.

Each month, members enjoy trips to local shops, museums, City Island, Arthur Avenue, Empire City, and restaurants. Trips require prior registration and a small fee.

RSS/Reverend Tieck Adult Day Center is a supportive, dementia-focused program serving adults 60+ with memory loss, offering specialized care and meaningful engagement in a safe, welcoming environment.

The NW Bronx Healthy Communities Project provides access to educational workshops and services on chronic disease management and nutrition literacy.

Robert Ackerson is back to lead the poetry group! Open to anyone who loves to write and listen to poetry!
This class is about reading,writing and discussing poetry. It is an open class, less structure allows for more creativity. The seniors chose this style of class. It is more enjoyable for them. The members are of all three levels mentioned in the above question. The class is open for all members.
