Special Event: Melissa Elstein is Here for a Chair/Chi/Prana Class (HYBRID - Melissa will be in IN CENTER)
The instructor of our most popular Sunday class, Melissa Elstein is here at the RSS Center for a very special class. If you've attended one off Melissa's classes you'll want to be here. And, if you haven't experience the joy of one of her classes, now is the time. The class will also be available online.
In-person “Chair, Chi & Prana” Class led by yoga and qigong teacher and Reiki practitioner Melissa Elstein:
In this one-hour fusion class combining Chair Yoga, Qigong & Tai Chi Easy(tm) , students will practice seated and standing yoga poses that gently strengthen and stretch the body, while using a chair for support. Tai Chi movements that are modified from the traditional forms and Qigong energy work will also be taught (with an option of being seated or standing). Self-massage techniques are included to increase circulation and warm up the muscles. Gentle and seated core strengthening is included as well! With all these practices, students learn practical tools to stretch and tone the body, calm the nervous system, focus the mind, increase energy, and work on balancing and fall prevention skills.
Followed by 30 Minutes of Yoga Nidra Deep Relaxation:
Enjoy a 1/2 hour of deep relaxation in this class that can be taken as an individual class or right after the Chair, Chi & Prada class (also taught by Melissa Elstein). Students will be guided to relax each part of the body through mindful awareness, followed by a beautiful visualization practice to enhance one’s feeling of peacefulness and bliss. Participants can take the class seated or laying down. No prior experience is necessary to attend (and no yoga props are necessary) as the yoga nidra practice is accessible and beneficial to all!
(Both classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners).
